Sisteron and Les Mées, the Penitents rock formations
The Polyglot Club community invites you on an unforgettable getaway on date_en, to discover the treasures of the Luberon: Sisteron: citadel and old town, then Les Mées and its Penitents rock formations.
Discover the dramatic landscapes of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence: Sisteron, its citadel and historic charm, then Les Mées and the impressive Penitents rock formations.
In autumn, the light is beautiful and the air is cooler, perfect for strolling, taking photos and enjoying viewpoints.
A day mixing nature and heritage, ideal for a quick escape.
This excursion will be conducted in both French and English by your polyglot tour leader.

1. Departure from Marseille
Meeting at 7:30 AM.
Meeting point is right next to the Saint-Charles train station, near the entrance of the Faculty of Sciences Saint-Charles (Place Victor Hugo).

3. Sisteron, citadel and old town
Discover Sisteron, known as the “Gateway to Provence,” famous for its impressive citadel overlooking the Durance Valley. Enjoy a leisurely walk through the old town, with its picturesque narrow streets, lively squares, and charming cafés.
Free time to admire the citadel from various viewpoints or, depending on opening hours and interest, the option to visit the citadel (optional). From the ramparts, take in breathtaking panoramic views over the Durance Valley and the surrounding mountains. Free time for lunch in the town.
4. Les Mées, the Penitents rock formations
In the afternoon, stop in Les Mées to discover the impressive rock formations known as the Penitents. These striking stone pillars, shaped by erosion over time, create a truly unique and dramatic landscape.
Enjoy an easy and accessible walk to get closer to the rocks, followed by free time for photos and to admire the scenery. A relaxing moment in nature before returning in the late afternoon to Aix-en-Provence and Marseille.

5. Drop-off in Aix-en-Provence
Arrival at approximately 7:00 PM.

6. Return to Marseille
Arrival at approximately 7:30 PM.

To be fully refunded, you must purchase the cancellation insurance option available on our ticketing platform. In the absence of cancellation insurance, you can still transfer your ticket to another person for free. In this case, please inform us of the name of the person to whom you have transferred the ticket.
Late Arrival
We reserve the right to refuse participation to individuals arriving late for the first departure of the bus at the meeting point.
Non-Payment
We also reserve the right to refuse participation to individuals who have not paid the balance before the bus departs.
Participation of People with Disabilities
To ensure the safety and well-being of all our participants, we recommend that people with disabilities be accompanied by a support person throughout the excursion. Your safety is our priority, and by informing us in advance of your specific needs, we can ensure the best possible experience for you. If participation is not possible for safety reasons, a full refund will be offered.
Participation of Minors
Minor children must be accompanied by their parents, legal representatives, or guardians to participate. No waiver can be signed by our guides. If a minor arrives alone, we will not be able to allow their participation in the excursion, and a full refund will be offered.
