Hi there

I would like to know what's the difference between Arabic and Egyptian script, because when I ask to write something in Egyptian they use Arabic so why  there is an Egyptian language if  there is not difference?

Thanks

Today they speak the Egyptian Dialect of Arabic in Egypt  not Egyptian and use Modern Standard Arabic to write. The Ancient Egyptian language was written in Egyptian hieroglyphs, Hieratic and Demotic it eventualy became the Coptic language (the liturgical language of the Coptic Orthodox Church) and is written in the Coptic alphabet.

Hallo,

First of all thanks for your question, there is no Egyptian Language..there is only Arabic language but every arab country has it own accent(dialect) and for sure it is Arabic language but in Egyptian dialect, you can see some words from another language for example

oda(it means room in english) but it is originally from Turkey Language as well

Tarabeza(means table) and it comes from Greece language,

Ploice and it is originally English word  etc....

but in news, the people try to spead standard arabic but for sure not 100 percent but in movie, program....most of them in dialect and the most common dialect is egyptian..it means anybody in arab world can understand Egyptian dialect.......finally for sure Arabic language is better than any dialect this is because language of Quran...........

ciao

I agree, i am egyptian and can tell u that if u speak the formal arabic almost everyone in any arabic nation will understand u, however it will look a little bit strange such that some non educated people may not be able to reply in formal arabic, and  a few of them may not understand some words.

The egyptian is well understood by most of arabic people because the egyptian movies are the most common everywhere...

If u wanna learn arabic, i recommend u to learn formal arabic first, when u become a specialist u can start thinking about dialects :-)
