It can seem that sharing a flat is a good idea.
But there is one important thing: to chose the right people.
I have never shared a flat.
But one my friend had a wide experience.
She moved to our city when admitted to University.
She was missing her old friends and worried about feeling lonely.
So, she moved with 13 other people so that she would always have someone to talk to.
But her bed was on the landing.
Then there was the bathroom rota.
They started taking turns at 5.30, so she had to get up early.
Sometime later, the owners threw them out and she had to find a new home fast.
This is why she ended up with one girl to elegant old building.
At first they getting along well, but late things went sour and she had to move out.
After that she ended up with some students band was happy until they all caught a mysterious illness.
After that she agreed to get a place with her friend from school.
Now she got the smallest bedroom in a student house.
There are though advantages to the flat-sharing life.
If you forgive them for drinking the last of your milk, you get captive shoulders to cry on.
If you can forget about the ring around the bath, your CD collection instantly gets three times bigger.
