It is argued that children would learn more from teachers than parents after they receive education, no matter in academic performance or social sills.
I agree with this this idea, although it is important to recognise the role parents play in children’s social development.
Teachers who have specialistic knowledge are more likely to help students make progress.
Because of systemic training theoretically and practically, teachers know how to capitalize on learners’ cognitive abilities, making it easier to pass on knowledge to students.
This makes students be willing to make a effort on studying and be possible improve their academic performance.
While parents may find it difficult to help their children on, such as explaining some questions or triggering children’s enthusiasm of learning.
The rules set by teachers help students shapen their social skills which enable them to communicate with their peers effectively, and children are cultivated to adhere to rules, being responsible members.
By constrast, because families which do not like schools having a social atmosphere are less likely to provide children with opportunities to enhance their social abilities.
On the other hand, parents are also an important factor in children gaining social skills.
Parents are children’s role models, for example children know they should show their respect to the elderly when their parents are taking care grandparents.
Families also decide children’s extra-curricular activities, such as taking part in barbecue and parties, exposing to a variety circumstances.
Children can practice social skills in these activities, thereby they can have an improvement on socialization.
In conclusion, teachers can effect children efficiently, but the importance of parents in children’s development should not be underestimated.
