Self introduction My name is Li Minyan and you can call me Mia.

I was born in Guangzhou and I graduated from Guangdong Ocean University in 2012.

During my study period, I took a gap year which is not a normal choice for Chinese graduates.

Through reading books, communicating with friends, working and thinking deeply, I gain a better understanding of myself and now have a complete faith that I can devote myself to a career in preschool education.

It is the gap year provided me with an opportunity to grow into a person with self-discipline, confidence and love of learning.

In 2013, I worked as a practice teacher in Ascot Garden Kindergarten and it is the most valuable experience for me to become a preschool teacher.

Besides, I have extensive hobbies, such as drawing, reading, hiking, playing guzheng and playing piano.

I am looking forward to study in your university so that I can get more chances to learn from all kinds of people.

why do you want to study in hk?

To choose hk to pursue further study is factored by some reasons.

First of all i have a deep faith that i want to devote myself into education of early childhood and a strong desire to absorb more knowledge after i worked as a teacher in ascot kindergarten.

Secondly Though i can have further study in mainland China or other countries, i still regard the education of hk as the pioneer of education in china, and what i learn from there would be more likely to be adopted in mainland china.

Also the advantages of hk postgraduate education attract me a lot such as advanced education methods, creative idea of education and liberal study atmosphere.

Have you applied for other schools?

Yes, i applied the some major in another school, but your school is my preference.

教院：because hk institution of education is the unique university of education Not only can the courses enable me to acquire systematical knowledge, but also i heard that the library facilities there is impressed, especially for education.

I think it would be a paradise for me to further my study.

浸会：because baptist university has good reputation in china these is a center for child development, i think if i have the chance to be a volunteer there, i could gain more hands-on experience.

I am so agree with the idea of whole person education and looking forward to be nurtured in that way.

Anything you know about hk?

To be honest, i have never been to hk, but i got an impress through the mass media.

Hk is thought to be the combination of western and eastern.

In my view, hk is also an integration of modernization and tradition.

On one hand, hk is the leader of fashion and on the other hand it gives emphasis to traditional conservation.

How do you know your university?

I search from internet and investigate the course structures through the official website.

Firstly, from years of study, I now possess clear logic, study transfer ability and have insight into my own personality.

So i am clear about teacher is not only what i want to do but also what i am suitable to do.

Secondly, i have an experience of internship in ascot kindergarten so i have a sensitive mind to connect practice and theory.

教院：In mainland china, often the importance of community is easily ignored.

Short term plan is that i will be volunteering or working in some organizations related to children when studying in hk.

My long term plan is that i will concerned the preschool education of stay-in-home children in mainland china, because i believe it has profound influence on individuals and society.

Most of these children’s parents work in another cities when children go to primary school.

This means most of those children can have the company of parents before 5 or 6 years old.

So if we can help stay-in-home children in this important time and with the help of their parents, it would have a great effect on children’s future and the prospect of china.
