I am going to translate in English an extract from a text found on the internet: Languages and learning The language, essential expression of the cultural identity, is a fundamental part of the elimination of illiteracy.

What are the consequences for the elimination of the illiteracy programs, especially in the multilingual countries?

This article points out the linguistic questions, only in case of adult literacy.

Therefore it presents some examples showing how this program is build in several countries.

In this article, the author refers obviously the multilingual policies at school.

However, the main subject is the adult literacy.

The author started to be interested in the education and adult literacy, especially in the use of afrcan languages in the development cummunication, durings his activity of a decade in a association in Cameroun.

Recently, with his new job, he made different works on the adult literacy, in Africa and in Asia.
