As part of my first year DUT GEA, we had the opportunity to intern for a period of four weeks in the organization of our choice.

For me it was ported to accounting firm named ABM, But before getting into the thick of it let me place you outline of this presentation.

So the presentation I will be showing you about my company goes as such.

As we watch the display here, I will showing you the profile of ABM’s company which is an accounting firm , then my tasks during the training period, after that my responsabilitis and my skills and to finish the aspects positive and negative of this training First of all, I will present you the profil’s comapagny, so the company’s name is ABM, It was established in 2 february .

At the head of this company, we have Jean-Marc, who is an chartered accountant, it’s he who manages the entire staff.

And the statut’s company is a private limited company.

So what service does ABM offer?

the company offers above all the bookkeeping business, but also the social management and recently a payroll service.

My job during this internship was an assistant accountant, I had to take care of client files.

He had in fact, enter invoices into the accounting software but before entering it took me to sort of client files, and then codify each invoice and finally record these bills.

What I do all this?

Simply, because is to make sure that the company has a sufficient amount of working capital (the amount required to meet its daily operations) for its smooth running and to keep the transactions into record.

In this section, I will detail two tasks I perform during the internship, What is Coding?

The codification is to charge on each invoice the appropriate accounting number for each amount on the invoice to grasp.

First I have need to identify the primary activity of the client.

Because if it’s a restaurant or a hairdresser the accountant number won’t be the same.

Here we have a bill of one customer who had as a main activity restoration, so it is to provide food to consumers.

So here I have used the 607300 which means “purchase food” And after that the account of VAT.

When I finished with the codification, I have the need to use the accountant software in order to put all this information in it As we can see here.

For doing all that I was needed to be patient, because I have to treat all the folder’s customers, to be flexible, to have a good computer skills as well as to have team spirit and mainly to be organized because I have a lot of invoice to treat and to keep.

So in 2 sentences I can say that I was responsible for keep folders of some customers, and in the same time to make a point of each folder and make sure that all of document are recording in the software; To finally, I want to conclude with the positive and negative aspect of this training What I did not like about this course is the sort of documents.

Because it took me a while to sort a file of more than 100 sheets. It's not fun.

Also stay four hours on a desktop does not have me.

I wish I had a break between 2:00.

Despite all that, what I can say is, this immersion in professional environment was extremely rewarding for me, as his contributions were many.

Accounting, before I entered the university, was a totally unknown area.

Because I’m a holder of a Bachelor degree in economic; But a few months has sufficed in the GEA department to develop in me a particular interest in the subject, pushing me a few months later to guide my internship research to this field.

This internship in an accounting firm allowed me to get a panoramic view of the accounting world.

I was able to rub shoulders with professional and competent and I have tried to assimilate a many teaching and thanks that I have learned to be versatile and autonomy, to increase my computer skills.
