  • Employment rate

  • The line graphs demonstrate the percentage of people in full-time and part-time job by comparing the figures of male and female from different age groups between 1973 and 1993.
  • At first glance we see that the majority of 25-50 years old men worked full-time in 1973 and 1993 (90 % and 80 % respectively), while the figure of female full-time employment is quite irregular.
  • The percentage of women in full-time job constantly fluctuated depending on the age.
  • Thus, only 55 % of 22 years old women worked full time between 1973 and 1993, while 35-40 % and 30 % from other age groups worked the whole day in 1973 and 1993 respectively.
  • In 1973 approximately 3 % of 25-55 years old men were engaged in part-time job, in contrast to this, the figure of the same age group doubled by 1993.
  • The figure of part-time female workers fluctuated between 7 – 20 % in 1973, compared to 1993, the figure rose up to 20-35 %.
  • To sum up, these graphs clearly illustrate the issues in employment market where the number of part-time workers increased, whereas the percentage of full-time employers dropped.
