Text from kariesona - English

  • Do young people enjoy life more than older people?

  • Note: I am very aware that this text is very general and of poor quality content.
  • But I decided to post it anyway to get my mistakes corrected.
  • Thanks a lot for your help!
  • "Enjoy life to the fullest" seems to be a universal motto, and everyone is trying to do so at every stage in their life.
  • But according to some people, young people enjoy life more than older people do.
  • While this statement has a point in certain ways, I personally do not entirely agree with it.
  • First, when referring to "young people", we must be reminded that this age group gathers very young children as well as teenagers; they cannot enjoy life the same way.
  • While children might more time to enjoy life than any other people, they do not always have the freedom to do so, because of their parents' restrictions for example, or because of their own limits: they are still too young, and their parents have to help them do a lot of simple things.
  • It can also be really difficult for a teenager to enjoy life.
  • They are often faced with problems while discovering what life really is: they can suffer from lack of self-confidence, preventing them from making friends or developing their own personality, and even leading them to dangerous behaviours such as mental anorexia, alcohol abuse or depression.
  • Sometimes, they have difficult family situations that greatly affects their happiness, for instance when their parents are having a divorce.
  • Thus, enjoying life when we are young is not as easy as people think.
  • On the other hand, older people have already gone through most of life's difficulties, and have reached a more stable situation: they usually have a job, their own house, their loyal group of friends, their hobbies, and sometimes have built their own family.
  • They now have the freedom (and the money) to take some time off and enjoy life, go on vacation, try a new sport, learn a new language.
  • This is why I think that young people do not always enjoy life more than older people do, and on the contrary, sometimes older people can enjoy life more.
