  • Why it is wrong to eat, exploit and harm animals.

  • Most of you participate in this harsh yet considered normal system where animals are used as resources, consumer products.
  • And you'd have no idea why.
  • How can we explain that ?
  • How did this phenomenon spread so easily ?
  • First of all, men were probably forced to hunt during hard times (supposedly the Ice Age) where plants were hard to find : eating meat was needed by that time, or humanity would have disappeared, I guess.
  • That's what we are all told.
  • Evolution, and all that stuff about Prehistory.
  • But everything changed when eating animals grew to be a pleasure and a business instead of a biological need.
  • Would you hunt, kill, cut your own preys by hands and teeth, like any carnivore on earth ? Of course not.
  • In no way meat production is natural, neither it is good for health.
  • Just compare your body, your own human organism, to other animals' anatomies.
  • We're more likely to be frugivores than omnivores.
  • Nature provided us with all the sufficient nutrients in plants, grains, algae, and cooking is really easy without harming anyone.
  • But society decided that is was normal, healthy, sane and whatever to eat animals and their byproducts.
  • When you see ads, posters, commercials about meat products and so on, you don't question yourself why they tell you to eat that stuff.
  • You just do what they want you to do - what capitalism and industries want you to do in order to make profit.
  • Never wondered why there is so much hatred towards vegetarism and other "diets" excluding meat products (for personal, religious, ethic.. reasons) ?
  • They lose customers, they lose consumers.
  • You are what makes all this terrible system work, yourself and the ones who follow the movement like you do.
  • Regarding nutrition, you are severely threatened by diseases like heart attacks, obesity, diabetes, osteoporosis, and a bunch of other nice things.
  • Meat proteins aren't so good after all, combined to fat, potential bacterias that could lead to salmonella or E.coli..
  • The same goes for milk calcium, which is much more acidic than our body can support, leading to premature decalcification.
  • Hormones, antibiotics and other things might represent a part of your everyday meal.
  • And then there's the whole stuff about morals, ethic, cultural clashes that you would not consider.
  • Why eat a pig and love a dog ?
  • Why cherish one and kill the other ?
  • Oh well, you don't kill animals directly, they made it easier for you with intermediates, from the farming to the slaughtering, and then the machining, advertising process until you can finally reach your death products in your local supermarket.
  • Why would people react so furiously to some populations eating cats and dogs, when you don't mind eating calves, chickens ?
  • And don't forget about fish, because fishery causes extreme pain and harm to both animals and ecosystems.
  • "If slaughterhouses had windows, everyone would be vegetarian" said famous Paul McCartney ; I bet it is true, as very few people would enjoy killing those animals when looking at them trying to defend themselves, crying and screaming to death.
  • Such violence should never be tolerated.
  • Traditional farms don't give a shit about ethical treatment, by the way, if you wondered.
  • I'll pass on the ecological consequences of meat farming and industry, which are : air, soil and water pollution, deforestation, plus economical problems caused by overconsumption in occidental countries that enlarge existing inequalities.
  • I could talk endlessly about meat, fish dairy, eggs, but there are also clothing, beauty products and entertainment that cause a huge problem : fur, leather, wool, as well as circuses, corrida, are all terrible things created by men to make it pleasurable maltreating, murdering other living beings.
  • This is not acceptable.
  • When people begin to consider other living beings as inferior and usable for any kind of profit, there is something wrong, really.
  • We should not have our behavior and feelings towards animals dictated by heartless companies.
  • Please, inform yourselves about the horrific production conditions of what you eat and wear, and stand for your planet, for their rights to be free and live without cruelty.
