The question of public health has been widely discussed in recent years in Mass Media and on television.

The majority of people believe that the affordability of public sport facilities may become a key factor in the improvement of public health, while others tend to underestimate this measure.

In this essay both these opinions will be analyzed in order to draw the conclusion.

One argument in support of the increase of public sport facilities is that people who are willing to do some sport will be able to find the most appropriate gym or fitness center next to their living area.

Consequently, more people would take up doing sport if they will not be forced to travel far away from their housing.

It can be demonstrated by the example of measures in China, where every public park and square is equipped with varieties of sport training devices.

Thus, hundreds of citizens are able to enhance their fitness shape and health.

On the other hand, due to the fast pace of modern lifestyle, the wide spread of sport facilities unlikely would play a significant role for those who are busy at work and accustomed to the sedentary lifestyle.

Taking all these points into consideration, I would agree with the opinion that the larger the number of sport facilities, the higher the amount of people doing sport.

However, one must admit that in order to improve public health, sport facilities or membership in gyms should be affordable for all social layers.
