On second thought, we can say that the American firm ‘’Nike’’ is not concernded by social progresses.
Indeed, the document 2 which is a cartoon entitled ‘’ The philadelphia inquirer’’ drawn by T.
Auth on May 6th 1997 shows us that Nike employs children in its factories.
In this picture, we can see an adult who might come from the USA. Why ?
The reason is simple, it’s according to the fact that Nike is an American firm.
Furthermore, we can deduct that the factory is located in Asia due to the head of the children.
Nevertheless, the most important fact in this picture is the fact that those children are hit by the Adult.
This man uses the logo of the firm so as to strike them and he must be a violent person because those children are afraid of this guy because of their frightened faces.
Moreover, the cartoonist is very brillant because he used the slogan of the firm in order to ridicule the firm.
Therefore ‘’ Just do it’’ becomes an order given by the Adult to the children.
Some people may think that this cartoon is an exaggeration of the reality.
However they just don’t want to cope with this reality.
For example, in their song ‘’ Los hijos bastardos de la globalización’’ the group Ska-P denounces Child labour.
Indeed their song talks about a child who is 12 years old and who makes some toys for the European children.
As a result, we can see that some Tnc’s employ employ young boys and girls in their factories and all of them do that for the same reason : get a labour less expansive.
