Russian and British people see the new year on the 31st of December, but each nation has its own traditions concerning the New Year`s Day celebration.
New Year`s Day is the biggest celebration for Russians.
In contrast to this New Year`s Day is not as important in Britain as it is in Russia.
Moreover, some British people ignore it completely and go to bed at the same time as usual on New Year`s Eve, but there are people to whom New Year isn't indifference.
For example, tradition of the first guest the most known New Year's tradition in Britain.
If after hours punch 12 and will announce the beginning of New year the first guest in the house there will be a young man with dark hair - year will be successful.
Still the tradition exists when hours start the fight before New Year it is necessary to open a back door in the house and to carry out the Expiring Year and when hours punch midnight it is necessary to let in the New Year the main entrance door.
Before New Year`s Day in the British and Russian city the streets and shop windows are decorated with and motley garlands.
On the London streets carry out theatrical representations.

Both parents and children dress up the tree, a diversity garland, decorations and stars.

Majority people in Russia celebrate New Year`s Day with your family at home.
They greet the New Year with champagne and listen to the Kremlin Chimes beating 12 o`clock.
Instead in British the most famous places of festivities are Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square, where people sing of «Old Land Syne» and make promises to themselves such as to give up smoking, to change their lifestyle.
The Russian people decorate a New Year's table of Russian salad and tangerines, and the British people decorate the table with a turkey and a pudding.

This night, fireworks everywhere blow up, and the sky lights up with a round dance of the color sparks similar to fantastic fares from any forgotten children`s cartoon film, and habitual and simultaneously strange silhouettes of fur-trees through glasses look brilliant multi-colored eyes of spheres.
For me, this is the most anticipated holiday, and although I have not 5 years, I still believe in Father Frost, but it is a secret.
Despite all this New Year`s Day is the funniest and the most magical holiday of the year for any country.
