My name is Joana Mafalda Ferreira Mendes and I completed my master degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in November 2014, at Faculty of Pharmacy of University of Porto (FFUP), the best pharmacy school of Portugal, and now I am intending to apply for the graduate programme in Regulatory Affairs in Novo Nordisk.

As a student of master in Pharmaceutical Sciences, I had opportunity to acquire a solid advanced formation in specific areas of health sciences and technology.

To complement this formation, I joined the Pharmacology research group at FFUP.

This project promoted my involvement and interest in research activities and afterwards I joined ERASMUS programme where I continued the development work of research in an internship at the Institute for Natural Products Research at UFRJ, in Brazil.

During this time that I lived in Brazil, I discovered that I am a passionate for known others places and diferrent cultures.

This experience became me more independent, mature and made me think about the possibility of to be a pharmacist in another country.

Today, I have sure that it is my first choice and this is one of the main reasons that catch me to join in this programme.
