Διορθώσεις

This piece of work was fairly easy to translate, although it presented some difficulties.

The target text is, in general, as descriptive as the original text excluding a small part at the beginning of the third paragraph.

In the Italian text, there were three different species of birds and sounds which I considered useless to maintain in the English text since the message about the atmosphere that the seller is trying to make the reader imagine is clear enough with the ending that I used: “... the melodic warble of the birds”.

For the address of the establishment I kept the Italian name and the first “S.S.

118” which I did not chose to change as whoever is driving in Sicily will come across with the traffic sign with those letters.

Then I added a clarification to make clear that the “S.S.” refers to a road, this being “Strada Statale 118 (State Road 118)”.

The last paragraph was the most challenging one with the distances of the touristic places written in kilometres.

I thought the website or the advertisement may be addressed to an international audience and I did not substitute the km by miles.

Instead, having the possibility that British readers may find the text while planning a journey to Italy too, after doing some research of similar texts, I domesticated the text and added the approximate distances in miles.
