2) What will this experience teach me and how does it fit into my academic and professional plan ?

I think that this experience is essential for every foreign languages student because we are in a total immersion.

For my part, going to Birmingham will help me to overcome my shyness because I will have to speak in English on a daily basis and by doing do, I will inevitably improve my level of English.

It will also give me a glimpse of life in England since it's the country I want to live in.

I have already been to London many times but only for holidays so living in Birmingham for an entire academic year will either help confirm my decision to work and live in England or make me realize it is not the right place for me.
