  • The articles I'd like to interprite was taken from the book 'Making Schools Work' and its were written by Marcus Foster.
  • The authot's communicative aim is to make us reconsider our attitude to educational system.
  • Marcus Foster shares with the reader his own thought and worries, raises different problems of education such as: the problem of misunderstanding between teachers and students, the problem of poor school funding of various equipment, the problem is that teachers don't believe their students, the problem is not the ability of teachers to adopt the position of their students and so on.
  • To my mind, M.Foster is a competent and wise teacher who wants to share with us his own personal experiece in educational sphere and tries to solve above problems.
  • I'd like to quote the main idea of the 1st fragment "is that the answers lie in ouselves as doers".
  • In other words, a person should not be afraid to change the situation that at some point went not as he wanted.
  • Foster stresses the importance of what people should be part of the pocess of changing a difficult situation, in order to be part of the problem.The teacher should take the initiative in their hands, to influence the educational process and students in general.
  • At the next paragraph which is entitled "Retooling Schools" Mr. Foster wants us to meditate upon what personal qualities should have a teacher.
  • He gives us an example in which a teache can not fairy evaluate the child's capabilities and to understand his spiritual experiences.
  • Thus, he instills not the love of students for his subject and can be to entire school as a whole.
  • For these teachers, children can become truants.
  • In the last fragment the author tallks about overcrowded schools, not the ability of teachers to explain the material to a large number of students and poor facilities in schools.
