When I used to go to school, my teacher of economic brought me one day a book .
It was about 600 pages thick book.
She told: "Boris, I brought you a book, I think it will be interesting for you".
I thought "Oh, well, are you kidding me?
Do you think I have nothing to do, than just read a book all day?" (I was 16 :)).
After class I went home.
When I came to doors I realized that I had no keys and there were nobody at home.
That was a time, when nobody know what is cellular phones, yet :) So I hoped that my sister came early and decided to wait her behind the doors.
After I while I had gotten bored (remember, there weren´t smartphones yet :)) and thought about the book.
So I decided to read a couple of pages until my sister come.
And then it happened - 3 hours later I found myself still reading the book and I had already red about 100 pages.
It was almost impossible to stop reading it.
The book was a revelation.
It provided answers on questions I had.
It was a combination of psychology, science, business, art, statistics, math, sociology.
It was "Marketing Essentials" by Philip Kotler.
And that was a moment when I fall in love with Marketing :) A moment which changed my life.
It gave me one of the most important idea, which have been leading me through years - Marketing is not deception, but understanding and explaining.
It Is simple and complicated at the same time.
It is exciting!
