- The fragment I'd like to interpret was taken from the book "Village School" and it was written by Laurie Lee.
- The author's communicative aim is to arouse in us a feeling of anxiety for children who study in the village schools.
- Laurie Lee shares with the reader his own very painful at times but anyway very useful school life experience.
- He raises different problems of education such as the problem of relationships between peers, the problem of education in the village schools, the problem of school conflicts.
- The theme is relationships between newcomers and veterans.
- The setting of the story is the village school.
- At the beginning of its story, the author describes a rather poor conditions in the village school.
- In the plot of this story the author describes his first unsuccessful acquaintance with the village school and classmates.
- Especially the author draws our attention to tense atmosphere in the classroom.
- The author reveals the cruelty of students to newcomers.
- He arouses in us a feeling of regret and sympathy to him.
- I consider that in his story the author uses hyperbole, because it's so cruel and rude, I think.
