Giving your children a name can be a very difficult task and even a subject of discussion for parents.
There are thousands of names and parents have to choose between them the one they think that would fit better with their child.
A lot of criterios can determine our decision.
In my case, for example, I like some Basque names such as Nerea or Ainara because I really like the way they sound.
I love names taken from Greek mythology like Ariana, Perseo or Thalia.
These names are not very common and they involve incredible myths that my children could relate if anyone ask them for the origin of their name.
Literature can be other source of inspiration.
Annabeth and Callie are the names of two of my favourite literary characters, because they are independent and daring, so their names have a special significance for me.
There are some families which have the tradition of naming the children like their parents or grandparents, but I would never call my children with the same name of my relatives.
I prefer that each member of a family has an original and different name.
