Good morning Mr. Farcher, good morning classmates.

After our graduation many of us are going to travel around the world.

Whether Au Pair, work or travel or just a holiday in foreign countries, you learn about other cultures, religions and you meet different people.

I like travelling very much and therefore I have chosen the topic of “Tourism and Travelling”.

The content is about: • The different types of tourism • Advantages and disadvantages of tourism • Great places to visit in the world First let us begin with the different types of tourism.

There are many different types.

I will only explain the main one to you.

Beach tourism: Many tourists spend their holidays on beaches.

They relax, go bathing or just enjoy the salty sea breeze and the ocean.

Sports tourism: An increasing number of sports fans travel to places where special events are being held.

The Olympic Games and world championships attract visitors from around the world.

Adventure tourism: In the past few decades trips to far away exotic places have become popular.

Tourists looking for thrilling activities go mountaineering, rafting, trekking , or even to remote places in the rainforest.

Religious tourism: Religious tourists go on pilgrimages to holy sites.

For example, Roman Catholics travel to Lourdes, Fatima or the Vatican in Europe.

Eco-tourism: Recently many people have chosen a type of tourism that does not damage the environment.

They avoid travelling by plane or do not buy souvenirs that are made out of endangered plants and animals.

Now let us talk about the advantages and disadvantages of tourism.

Some advantages are for example: 1.

More tourists mean more jobs for the local people. 2.

More jobs mean less poverty in the country. 3.

The potential for scholatic growth, they have more money for the education of the children.

Some disadvantages are for example: 1.

Tourism mean more traffic in the air, skies, water, roads make more pollution. 3.

Tourism can cause a greater risk of crime.

The poor local people steal things from the rich tourists 4.

Many people in the tourism industry are working long hours and many days, families are not together as much.

At the least I want to show you great places to be in the world.

There is a Travelers' Choice Award for the best destinations in the world.

2015 the following three countries were on the top places. 1.

ISTANBUL - TURKEY Now we can look forward to our next and last journey together – our graduation trip.
