  • Please correct my writing. Thank you guys very much.

  • The long-awaited last romantic comedy of the director Edward Zwick is here, and in just this last week have become an absolute box office smash.
  • Starring the infinitely charismatic Jake Gyllenhaal as Jamie, and the utterly gorgeous Anne Hathaway as Maggie; they have been acclaiming for their acting, nevertheless the film in general have received many tough critics.
  • We start meting Jamie, an extremely megalomaniac and at the same time, powerfully charming guy, who will do his best in order to get in the pants of any sexy girl and to get his wallet overflowed of money.
  • But this charmer is about to change when he meet Maggie, a strong girl who he cannot manipulate.
  • Jaime eventually will have to decide between his career and Maggie, this decision is going to change their lifes forever.
  • What we find here it is not more than an excessively packed collage of all the different clichés ever used in the romantic comedy genre, which sometimes, seem to be a shamelessly degrading copy of Last Tango in Paris.
  • But this awful lack of originality aside, we also find a very unbalance plot, where sometimes you can die of boredom, and sometimes it can be reasonably moving.
  • Maybe the most interesting point of the movie, the use of sex as liberation of emotional pain (taken from Last Tango), is deeply spoiled by the constant explanation of everything, and the same happens with his absurdly primitive concept of comedy, it does not give us space to think about anything.
  • The only thing that keeps this film away from the bottom of some dumpster is the acting of the two leadings actors that are brilliant, even though it is evident that the director did not make the most of them.
  • As you might can guess I would not recommend it, but seriously, when it comes to “romcoms” who does watch them anxiously awaiting a deep plot and a genuine quality?
