During the time of studying I have been facing a lot of tasks which required a new complicated approaches and ideas, development of the additional skills to solve them.

So the good example of how I set myself a really difficult goal overcoming challenges along the way, is the preparation for anniversary “Specialty day 2014” at my University.

The theme of the competition was «The currency fluctuations» so it seemed interesting for me to apply some mathematical methods, for example, to forecast currency exchange rates.

Although there were no special requirements to the content of presentation I decided to make it complicated and unique, because to best of my knowledge in previous years nobody used the mathematical modeling.

So it was quite difficult goal to achieve, and I started to collect the information, learned which methods and models can be applied, consult with the lecturers but at the same time had to complete all learning assignments.

Because of that I had a little problems with one subject, but then I managed to overcome them.

In the end developed a short-term exponential smoothing Holt model.

The juries were impressed and we won first place.
