The title of the book, and most of its tone, derive from the contrast between Elinor's character and her younger sister.
The story begins with the death of Mr. Dashwood.
Dashwood extracts a promise from his son, that he will take care of his half-sisters.
However, John's selfish and greedy wife, Fanny, soon persuades him to renege.
Mrs. Dashwood begins looking for somewhere else to live.
In the meantime, Fanny's brother, Edward Ferrars, a pleasant, unassuming, intelligent but reserved young man, visits Norland .
He and Miss Eleanor fall in love .
But soon the Mrs. Dashwood moves her family to Barton Cottage in Devonshire, near the home of her cousin, Sir John Middleton.
And Miss Eleanor leaves and not telling about your feelings Edward.
And the whole book of their lives intersect, Eleanor thinks about him all the time, but does not allow his feelings to come out.
John warmly met Miss Ashwood with her daughters and soon introduced her to his wife and best friend of Colonel Brendan.
It soon becomes apparent that Colonel Brandon is attracted to Marianne .And during the whole book, he treats her with warmth and tenderness .But Mariella meets another...
But that's not the end of history...And then the whole book about their emotional and amorous stress.
I will keep on intrigue for those who suddenly did not read the book and watched the movie.
