It is relevant to consideration in this work one of the most controversial non-standard policy tools - quantitative easing - because this set of measures in the last decade has been put into practice in a number of developed countries.

Of particular interest in this topic is becoming the light of what is currently carried out this policy in the euro area in the form of large-scale asset purchase program.

Moreover, information on the quantitative easing policy in Russian is limited to a small circle of scientific articles and news reviews.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the effect of the quantitative easing policy as an instrument of non-standard monetary policy on the main macroeconomic indicators of the euro area.

Based on the results obtained after the application of the model, it can be concluded that the effect of the quantitative easing policy, namely large-scale asset purchase, though has a positive but limited impact on the inflation rate, but significantly affects the performance of the debt market, issuance and use.

In general, the mechanism of quantitative easing is an effective tool, but it should take into account that the impact of monetary policy is limited, so the euro area government should make reforms in the real sector of the economy, to seek reconsideration of the fiscal and social policies of member countries.
