It’s very interesting story.
The previous name of my university is “Moscow state university of mechanical engineering in chemical industry”.
The university educated mechanical design engineers for chemical industry.
But, in the end of the previous century the topic of environmental protection was very modern.
It was a difficult time for, science, education, and industry of the Russia.
The industry crushed after the fall of USSR.
And the heads of my university decided to rename my university like “Moscow State University of Environmental Engineering”.
As the result of that, my university got many finance.
University started to educate engineer-ecologists.
But nobody remake a system of education.
The heads of the university only rename subjects of the education.
But the system of the education didn’t change.
The new engineer-ecologists were starting to appear, but they were same mechanical design engineers.
But, they knew little more about equipment for a cleaning air, water and a utilization of garbage.
Also, they knew more about renewable energy sources.
That’s why I am working for more than three years as mechanical design engineer in other branches of industry.
I have a wide engineering outlook.
