My name is Santiago, I was born in the Canary Islands and I have been living there my whole life with my parents.

I love playing guitar and listening to music from all over the world, but especially Jazz, Bossa Nova, Blues and folk music.

I really like learning languages; I am currently studying English and French at college and Chinese by my own.

I found music and languages a fun and easy way to get into other people’s realities.

I would like to travel as much as possible, and now that I have some American friends, I am looking forward to travel to North Carolina.

All started many years ago in elementary school, and thanks to this antiquated educational system, during almost more than ten years I have been getting really good grades in my English classes, even though I was not able to say a simple sentence correctly.

Things started to change the year before college, when I became a huge fan of the sitcom “Friends”, which after ten seasons, helped me developing an ear for English.

At college I started to speak and in little time I have improved a lot.

Right now, I feel much more confident with my English, although sometimes I am not very eloquent when speaking it.

I have a general knowledge about the history of the Unites States, of what has happened and what is going on nowadays.

I know that it is a nation made by immigrants, the Indian genocide, the two centuries of slavery that ended up in a civil war, and also that it is a very warlike country which has taken part in many different wars around the world.

I know the importance of the military industry, but I do not know so much about important wars like the Vietnam War, World Wars I and II, and the interventions of the US in Arab countries.
