All treats of Chechov's character came from his mother's one.
But passion to edify was from his father.
Just read his letters written to the brothers and that'll be proved.
Being a gymnasium pupil Chechov wrote to his brother Misha a note because he had called himsef a pathetic human being.
Chechov was at the age of 17 and Misha was age 12.
"Do you realise your nothingless?
Not all have to be like others.
Do you know where you need to realise that?
In front of God beaty nature.
In front of people you must be aware of your dignity.
You aren't a rogue are you?
So respect yourself for being honest.
And remember that you have nothing to be ashamed of."
Since he became a student he had been bringing home the bacon.
