This is the story of a joyful young French pensioner Billy who lives in a small house in the countryside.
He leaves for his, old, narrow, wooden hut in the forest which he built when he was a child.
He walks in the peaceful, shallow stream with a big smile.
When he arrives, he decides to observe the moon with an ancient refracting telescope.
But he makes a frightful discovery, the moon disappeared.
He is very unhappy.
After some time, he finds a letter on the floor.
It's a letter written by the moon, in which she writes she is sad because nobody is interested in it.
Billy is very effected after he reads this letter, and so decides to look for the moon.
However, in his letter, the moon decides to reappear in order to help prove to the moon that Billy likes it.
The first mission is to make a bouquet of flowers, but the moon is demanding and wants very special flowers, which are obviously very rare.
Billy finishes this mission after many adventures .
Indeed, he fell in the stinging nettle, and was pricked by a wasp's nest.
Billy is very exhausted and he decides to put off, for an another day, the next mission.
After the break, Billy sets off again to adventure with the second mission.
This mission is to draw, in ink, a portrait of someone who is magnificent.
However Billy doesn't have ink, and must to find it to finish his mission.
Billy walked for some hours because he couldn't find a supermarket that sells the ink.
When he arrives in a village, Billy is relieved.
He has found ink, and he draws the moon, but he is sad because in the portrait he doesn't have the colors he needs.
When he finishes this mission, Billy decides to return to his wooden hut.
Now he is happy, because when arrived that night, Billy looked in a refracting telescope and he saw a crescent moon.
He thinks it is a sign of the part of the moon that shows a little recognition of the effort that Billy gave.
One last mission remains to Billy in order for the moon to come back in the sky.
The last mission is very difficult, indeed; the moon wishes to recover the beauty of his youth.
However, this mission is complicated, because the moon is in the sky, and Billy on the ground, so Billy looks for a good way to handle this mission.
Suddenly Billy had an idea.
Instead of restoring him his youth beauty.
He writes him a poem.
In this poem, he declares him the love which he carries in his glittering light.
Especially as he admits him he cannot live without her in the sky.
When the moon read this poem, she is very moves.
She was so much affected, that she stopped being sad she and thus resumed her place of light when the night fell.
