The society is divided in 4 hereditary, unequal class.

The Brahmans, the Kshatryans, the Vaisas and the Sudras.

The horrible condition of this people is denounced .

They have to do the most degrating jobs as scour septic tanks by hands, scrape away years of built up fecal matter.The women are raped and forced to prostitute.

We learned that outside India, most of the people who are aware of this system don't know the existence of this system or think it has been abolished.

There is also inequalities between men and women.In the radio record ; India is qualified as an increasingly male dominated society as census shows.Family prefers to have sons than girls because they can look after the family business, the family name , look after their parents when they are getting old.

The tradition of the dowry is also the principal reason that they find that having a boy is more attractive.As a consequence, there is a rising of number of gender selected abortion.

Despite of the fact that it is prohibited, some Indian praticed this gendercide.

There is a lot of inequalities between rich and poor and today, India is subject of « 2 duelling narratives ».

On the one hand, there is the face of the poverty.

In the country, 800 million people leave below the poverty line and 400 million people survive unless 1 dolar a day.

It is one third of the world poor people it ranks low in measure of inequality and very high in measure of malnutrition among children.

On the other hand, there is the face of richs with the 69 Indian billionnaires, the development of world class IT firms and number of entrepreneur among citizens,the growth in GDP(gross domestic product) and a costly space programm.
