Bivalent domains
- Bivalent domains are regions in pluripotent stem cells which contain both histone marks, H3K4me3, which normally presents in transcriptional start sites of active genes, and H3K27me3, which in contrary presents in transcriptionally inactive regions.
- Bivalent domains are enreached in promoter regions of genes which are transcriptionally inactive in stem cells but became active during cell differenciation.
