If year 2016 was expected with impatience, it is with horror that we waked up.
Indeed, if we thought all these horrors behind us, we discovered that more than 100 women reported being sexually assaulted across Germany during the New Year's Eve.
If several politicians or personalities addressed and explained their reaction, we should underline a special action orchestrated by the artist Milo Moire.
Indeed, this Swiss artist protest in Cologne over sex attacks in a particular way.
She did it naked with, as only protection, a sign reading, « Respect us !
We are not fair game, even when we are naked ».
The artist decided to stand outside Cologne Cathedral holding her placard and posing for pictures.
Several people were shocked by this show, considering it as not effective to be naked in this way.
Some of them would say that these actions are provocative and could not change mind about respect for woman.
However, this statement, according to Milo Moire, was a way for her to explain her opinion.
She thought it could be a way to demonstrate that men should always respect women.
She is convinced that women will no longer be treated as sex objects when a naked woman is treated with as much respect as a clothed one.
She claimed it was also a way to share in the suffering of these abused women.
Through this protest, this woman also wanted to give an example that women should not hide away.
On the contrary, « they should lift themselves up, be self-confident and stand up for their values ».
Women fought for their emancipation, during these last 50 years.
We must continue to fight in order to protect this social inheritance.
