On the other hand I also liked discovering the features we both had in common and it made me think deeply about the human nature and intercultural communication.

From that time on I wanted to know more about the various peculiarities of cultures and especially, the Japanese culture.

I grew a love for the Japanese language and though on the other side of the world it gradually became a special subject close to my heart.

I eventually entered the Japanese Studies at Charles University in Prague in order to devote myself for the study of Japanese people and to master the Japanese language with a desire to become a translator or an interpreter.

I would like to come to an understanding of the Japanese society through the study of its historical background, political context, or how the economic outcomes and other factors influence its people, all of which I find to be very fascinating and important to have in mind when refering to Japan.

The language in which the lectures are being delivered at my university is Czech and so are the discussions on the issues.

In the eyes of many Europeans it still has somewhat of an exotic aura to it which may originate in its distinct traditions or methods.
