COP21 has been the 21st "Conference of the Parties", an annual conference organized by the United Nation dealing with the subject of the climate, and climate change.
This year's COP meeting took place in Paris between the 30th of November and the 11th of December.
This summit brought together leaders from around the world with the purpose of achieving a legally binding and universal agreement on climate, but also with the aim of keeping global warming below 2 ° C.
This event lead to discussions on emission reductions and other measures required to avert the looming global catastrophe of climate change.
Climate change is very important and we must react quickly because the increasing level of C02 in the atmosphere is the culprit for the rising global temperature, polar ice caps melting, oceans getting warmer and the incresing number of floods.
In addition, conflicts due to climate change may endanger world balance and world peace.
I think we have to protect our planet.
If we do not want to leave future generations with a poisoned gift.
The current issue of climate change is mainly related to the emission of greenhouse gas due to human activities.
Global warming introduces an additional factor of inequality and disparity between the different geographical areas of the globe.
In parallel, floods affected 3,4 million people in the last decade.
The only solution to provide energy for everybody without harming the environment is the widespread transition to renewable energies, however we must also change our behaviour/practices.
We must promote energy transition and this can be done through new start-ups (such as Facebook).
Nevertheless it's not about bringing a brutal change, it's about considering this transition in a long-term perspective.
If we stand still and do nothing, all the alterations mentionned earlier will be worse.
These alterations have already lead to the creation of climatic refugee in Bangladesh, where the sea level rises by 3.24 mm each year
Moreover, this winter was one of the warmest ever recorded and the average temperature across the world has risen by 0,74° C in the past century.
