NN is an ancient city.

It preserve rich cultural heritage.

Altogether, in NN has more than one thousand museums.

You can go to different museum: art museums, scientific museums, memorial museums and others.

Today I want to tell you about Gorky Memorial museum.

It was opened in 1971, in the house where the writer lived with his family.

This was the last Gorky`s apartment in NN.

In the rooms there has been preserved the original furniture.

The inner design was recreated according to the recollections of Peshkova, the writer`s wife, who had saved belongings and gave it then to the museum.

In this house he wrote the philosophical poem «The Man», started his work on the novel «Mother» and the play «Summer Residents», introduced final corrections into the play «At the Bottom».

Om the working table one can see the writer`s personal things: ink-pot, pencils, pens, manuscripts letters, three portraits – of his wife, son and Chekhov with Chekhov`s signature.
