I found out the films with Meryl Streep accidentally when I was ill.
I`ve just fallen in love with her.
I want to say about one of these films.
It is called Defending your life.
There is an unusual plot.
This story is about a man Daniel who dies in the car accident.
Then he finds himself in Judgment City.
It is like waiting area before next phase of human`s existence and it looks like a health-resort.
There are hotels, service-staff, entertainments and restaurants.
And all around looks like in a real life on the Earth.
He sees other people who also died.
All of them including Daniel are dressed in white clothes.
Next morning Daniel has an appointment with his lower.
He tells him, that people on the Earth use so little of their brains and that big part of their lives they feel fear.
People live in order to fight with their fears and doubts; they should improve themselves to go to the next phrase after they die.
And then judges in Judgment City decide who goes forward and who comes back to the Earth.
So they discuss a few days of the Daniel`s life.
During the process he meets and falls in love with a cute woman Julia (Meryl Streep).
They spend evenings together, go to the unusual cinema where people can even see their previous lives.
The proceedings don`t go well for Daniels.
Judges see that Daniel hasn`t overcome his fears.
The final nail in his coffin is when he declines to spend night with Julia and confesses that he is afraid.
Judges decide Daniel should come back to the Earth and try again.
Meanwhile Julia succeeds at her proceedings.
She is brave and confident.
And she must go forward to the next phase.
In final scene they sit in different buses.
Daniel loves Julia, but he can`t go with her.
He is upset and desperate.
Suddenly he escapes from the moving bus.
He runs to the Julia`s bus, but he can`t get inside.
He gets an injury, but he doesn`t give up.
Judges see Daniel behave brave and he fight.
Finally they open the doors.
So Daniel and Julia come to the next level together.
Such a sweet story! :)
