To participate to this discassion I searched about superstorm Sandy.
It is an one of the most harmfull disaster in the history.I found huge number of losses statistically.
As a result of Sandy, almost 25,000,000,000 dollar value of lost business activity.
After Hurricane Sandy, people faced lots of problems.
They don't have the enough poweroutages.
Miles long lines for gasoline happened.
Experts found that the real problem was resources.
Crisis for electricity because they need to have electricity to pump gas.
That loss of resources affect almost 10 million people along the East Coast.Electrical grids doesn't work.
Disaster analyst Philip Jan Rothstein touched this point.
''The power companies are good at this.
They’ve got all kinds of protective measures, they’ve got all kinds of detectors they’ve got all kinds of contingency plans and backups and so forth,” but in a Sandy-style situation, “sometimes something breaks, sometimes something fails.” In my opinion, the companies should be ready to this kind of emegrency situations.
All you can do is making preparations in the face of nature events.
The new innovation and developing technology will contribute this issue greatly.
Also well trained workers will speed up recovery time.
