The textbook is prepared in accordance with the requirements of Federal state educational standards of higher professional education (FSES) of bachelor majority 38.03.04 by State and municipal management.

The first part of the textbook considers issues of forming of political science, history, foreign and native policy, scientific-theoretical political issues and political life issues of modern world.

It covers the conceptual framework of political systems, regimes and civil society development.

It also discovers the function issues of party systems, government, democratic political development, historical aspects of formation of political culture and ideas of political elites.

The second part of the monograph considers the problems of geopolitics and national security theory and practice.

It describes the main approaches to determinate geopolitics as a science.

It also discovers the main geopolitical areas and schools, as well as the constitutional, conceptual, legal and doctrina national security basis of Russia.

The contents of the part are intended to form students ' idea of recent geopolitical world situation, its evolution models, and the place of major geopolitical centers and their role in the global ideological, political and economic struggle.
