Exchange programs, a way to open your mind
Introduction
This report is based on my experience as learner in Pegasus educational exchange programme.
For this purpose, I will mention my reasons for doing the exchange.
After that, I will talk about the positive and negative aspects of the experience.
Finally, I will propose my personal recommendations for improvement.
Why I decided to do the exchange?
It is widely accepted that the knowledge of several languages is reducing barriers and opening doors among citizens from different countries.
To get better job opportunities, in the future, was my main reason to participate in the program.
I wanted to improve my English.
What is more I was interested in opening my mind by interacting with students from different countries.
Aspects I like
Speaking about what I like most, I have to mention I really enjoyed having traditional food in the house where I stayed.
Besides, the groups in the classes were not too big so we were able to profit from all the lessons.
What is more, the groups mixed students from different countries, so it was easier for me to know about the way of life in other countries.
Aspects I dislike
However, I was not agreed at all with the fact that I had to share my room with other learners.
We were three and in spite of having a good relationship, we rarely had discussions and so on…I missed my space and my intimacy.
Apart from that, the lessons were too long for me; It was an intensive course, eight hours every day…At the end of the day, my head was full of information.
Finally, I should mention the bad quality of the internet connection.
Conclusion
From the information provided in this report, it is clear that I am really happy with the exchange programme in general but it is worthy to make some changes such as: the number of students in every bedroom, the last of the lessons and revise the internet connection.
