Hi every body,
hope you are all well.
Some words about my english learning experience that makes me very close to despair.
I'm 60 years old and I need to refresh my rusty english because of my work : I'm a sociologist and I have to regularly meet foreign colleagues from different universities who doesn't speak a word in french and, often english and american, expect to talk freely in english about this and that and, of course, about the details of their specific researches.
So, I've re-opened my old books, excessively listened BBC, read incomprehensible books ...Meh, no convincing results !
So I bought an english course in a private school at a so staggering price, my finances aren't so well now.
It's an amazing experience showing how large is the audience for learnig english and profitable the market !
The main issue I think is that the program runs based on a standard student's need in a marketing view.
If you are not exactly this standard student, woe betide the deviant !
I'm afraid my experience is very common.
So, I decide to try to join an exchange network where I could help in french and be helped in english.
thanks for taking the time to read my short text and hope you a very nice day.
regards
sylvie
