  • Please help me correcting my Grammar T^T

  • There are 2 kinds of approach used in this research, theoretic approach and methodology approach.
  • Theoretic approach is pragmatic approach, means we must consider the analysis process of pragmatic (focus on Face Threatening Acts) in the advertisement.
  • This research will focus on the Face Threatening Acts theories and findings.
  • While methodology approach used in this research is Qualitative Descriptive approach.
  • Based on Moloeng (2015:11) the data collection is as words, pictures, but not numbers (statistic), it is match with qualitative descriptive research characters.
  • The research design is qualitative approach because writers identify slogan of the advertisement and held some interview with the person which related to the case, so the data will be authentically true.
  • Research is designed to identifying whether there are any faces threatening acts on the hotel advertisement.
  • 3.2 Data and Data Source The data sources are advertisement board at the UB Guest House, utterances by UB Guest House Room Division Manager, and some utterances from the passerby around the UB Guest House Advertisement board.
  • Based on Sudaryanto (1990:25), context is the basic component which eligible for four conditions of data, that is speech, the addresser, relation between addresser and the addressee, speech on the outer part of data.
  • Data in this research is the analysis based on the utterances at the advertisement board support by the utterances of UB Guest House Room Division Manager and utterances of passerby to clarify the effect of FTAs on the slogan.
  • The theories relevant with the research is taken from “Utterance and their Meanings; an Introduction to Pragmatics” by Nurul Chojimah.
  • 3.3 Data Collection In taking sample of data, writers observing advertisement board at the UB Guest House.
  • The technique is by documenting the data.
  • First writers captured the photo as the evidence of the data.
  • Second, writers identifying and analyzing the data as the pragmatics case study (especially in this case the writers will focus on Face Threatening Act problems).
  • Third, writers note the slogan of advertisement and cluster it into relevant part of specific theories.
  • Forth, the writers search the authority evidence by visiting UB Guest House and did some interview.
  • Later, the writer clarify the writer’s hypothesis by elaborate the interview and slogans utterance data.
  • To determine the relevant theories, writers read the “Utterance and their Meanings: an Introduction to Pragmatics” to match the theories and the case study.
  • 3.4 Data Analysis The writers is analyzing and interpreting the data with specific theories to support writers’ interpretation.
  • Each of the relevant utterances will be analyzed the face threatening act elements which impact to the addresser and/or the Addressee.
  • Data will be analyzed whether it has face threatening acts which impact to addresser and/or addressee.
  • The writers will analyze UB Guest House Slogan on the Advertisement Board.
  • The result will describe in the finding and discuss in point discussion.
