Hydrostatic pressure effect on systolic pressure
- With a tensiometer we could know the systolic pressure, which was (in rest) 113 mmHg.
- After that we calculated the hydrostatic pressure with the formula Phs = d (cm) x (0,77 mmHg) + Pa. We obtained that hydrostatic pressure was 129,17 mmHg.
- It means that hydrostatic pressure has an effect on normal systolic pressure.
- In conclusion, systolic pressure has a variation in different parts of the body because of the distance to the heart, caused by hydrostatic pressure.
