  • Margaret Teacher

  • Today I’m in front of you, in order to justify the economic policy I inforced during my mandate Indeed, Britich citizens are allowed to know the reason why lots of them lost their job.
  • Moreover, some of them do hate me, and even want to see me be dead, which I find unjustified.
  • In 1979, when a major part of British citizens elected me, I inherited of a country where the economy was actually sick.
  • Too much Taxpayer's money was spent by the government in useless measures like the milk every day for the school children.
  • Also, I’ve judged that the governement’s economic support to coal and steel industry was absurd.
  • Indeed they spent billion pounds in british coal whereas today with the world market and by the way of importation, we could find these products cheaper abroad.
  • So we have decided to close the factories and to import coal and steel instead of manifacturing it.
  • I took this measure unwillingly.
  • Indeed, i’m personnaly from a mining village : yorkshire, my father was also a miner.
  • And I knew that the mining communiy was entirely reliant on coal production.
  • So this measure would lead to very serious social consequences like demonstration and even some violence from miners and miner’s family.
  • But today, the results are here, the economy is getting back on his feet and my team with the secretary of state for labour Norman Fowler, attaches importance to find an employment for all the jobless.
