TO EPIGENETIC POLYMORPHISM OF COLORING OF RED SOLDIER BUGS (PYRRHOCORIS APTERUS L.) IN CONDITIONS OF THE KABARDINO-BALKAR REPUBLIC Abstract.

The variability of the coloration of the integument of three populations of red soldier bug (Pyrrhocoris apterus L.) on the territory of the Kabardino-Balkar Republic is investigated.

A number of discrete variations of phens with different frequency distribution in the studied populations is selected.

It is suggested that there are a connection between observed variability and altitude-zonal differentiation of landscapes, and a possibility of using a red soldier bug as a bioindicator of environmental conditions.
