a letter to the editor of a magazine
- 16 Green Street, London, England, 13th April, Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing with the reference to the article entitled 'It's a student's life' which appeared in the last issue of your magazine.
- I wish to express my strong disagreement with the views contained in the acticle.
- To begin with, I find it difficult to believe that students do not contribute anything to the society.
- On the contrary, a significant percentage of students is involved in a wide range of scientific researches and cultural projects.
- Such volunteers are even more productive than the adults as they are more enthusiastic about it.
- Another point listed the article is the one I disagree the most with.
- I feel it is unrealistic of you to state that students are lazy and inproductive.
- There mught be a small percentage of younger people who could be described with these terms.
- However, the majority of students are hard-working and motivated individuals who are putting huge effort in their studies in order to ensure their success in the future.
- Finally, views contained in the article do not correlate with the well-known facts.
- It certainly is not true that students live in luxury.
- It is a hard job to find a student who does not have financial difficulties.
- In fact, most of the students have a part-time job which allows them to pay for their study and living.
- To conclude, I feel that your acticle is subjective.
- I trust you wlii give this issue you consideration and will take the opinions of students into account.
- Thank you for your attention.
- Yours faithfully, ***
