First of all, I have to say that I very keen on tennis, that is why I have chosen Rafael Nadal as an example of a public Spanish figure.
Rafael Nadal was born in Mallorca, a famous and touristic Spanish island.
He is 30 years old more or less.
He has won a lot of awards such as: Grand Slams, Roland Garros, Winbledom…
He is one of the best tennis players in the tennis history and maybe the best in clay.
The truth is that he is the most relevant Spanish sportsman of all time.
I don’t think anyone would argue with that.
Furthermore, I like Rafael Nadal due to his personality and character.
He is very competitive but firstly with himself.
He is cheerful and pretty humble, that is important in sports; it is advisable to know how to lose.
On top of that he always has kind words to his opponents, and he encourages children to do sports.
Personally, I am rather proud of Rafa Nadal is a Spanish public figure.
