Dear Editor, I am a staunch reader of your newspaper and I would like to express my point of view regarding an article that you recently published.

This article raised the issue of the overgrowing use of technology in our daily lives.

Unfortunately, I couldn't agree less about the arguments presented by the journalist who wrote this article and I would say that his standpoint is very narrow concerning this topic.

Admittedly, we could feel concerned and even worried about hackers or about our children's addiction to screens but from a higher perspective, technology helps to achieve much more things than we used to do.

For example, women condition has very much evolved thanks to technological progress with the boom of the electric devices in the 60's.

And more recently, internet and computers have helped a lot in developing new way of working with telecommute jobs that save time and improve the quality of life of many workers.

Additionally, it is argued that people are less and less in direct contact with each other and that we tend to isolate ourselves with our technological devices such as mobile phones, computers, or tablets but thanks to internet, we can communicate with the entire world and don't even need to meet the others physically to be in contact with them.

So claiming that nowadays, a lot of people are isolated is not completely true.

Furthermore, people who have a disability are less isolated thanks to internet but also thanks to electric wheelchairs or other devices that help them in their day-to-day existences.

For all the reasons that I reported above, I deem this article to be unnecessary and unworthy to appear in your newspaper for which I have always had a keen interest.

I hope that in the following issues you will take my humble opinion into consideration and that the articles that will be published will show the pros and cons of the treated subject in order for the readers to make their own opinion.
