Nowadays, with the ever-growing technological development, mass consumption dwells in the heart of our modern societies.
It is so embedded in us that we could state " I consume so I am".
Unfortunately, the mere fact of buying a product is not without any consequences.
Moreover, the way we discard this product when this last does not work anymore, bears a critical impact as well.
Not only is the environment the first victim but also those who live in it such as animals and vegetal and of course ourselves, human beings.
Even though more and more consumers are aware of this problem and intend to minimize the negative impact thanks to recycling, the reality in this day and age, is that climate change and environmental issues have to be taken into consideration in a more drastic way, finding alternative ways of consuming.
To be at one with nature is an outstanding feeling and a lot of people do not want to lose it.
That is the reason why some choose to buy less but better quality products.
Admittedly, recycling could be a solution but as it is stated in the first text, it is not a sufficient one.The proof resides in the floating islands of plastic bags or in the mountains of flotsam and jetsam discarded by the sea that we can find hither and thither on different parts of the globe.
With the agreements recently made during the COP21, we can hope that governments will take the right decisions that became of paramount importance for the sake of our planet.
In the meantime, normal citizens can take actions to avoid an overconsumption of useless gadgets, choose biodegradable and reusable materials and adopt a sustainable way of consuming and living.
