The movie is based on a real story that happened in 2013.

Tom Hanks is acting in this movie as a captain of An American cargo ship called Captain Philips.

He was an Irish and lived in Vermont in America. she (cargo ship) was in Salalah port in Oman and she carried tones of food, fresh water and fuel bunkered.

Based on their plan The cargo ship had to travel down to Djibouti.

They were going through the Horne of Africa.

The Horn of Africa was full of Pirate cages and that was an insecure shipping line.

Captain Philips knew the dangerous of this route so he ordered to tighten up security and closed every access doors. she left the Salalah port after checking the check lists.

Muse was a member of Pirate Cages that lived in Somali and he was hired by rebels to loot the commercial ships in the Horne of Africa. they had an order to go to the ocean and attack to ships.

So he quickly gathered the some of rebels and moved to the ocean by two skiffs. on the radar he noticed a big cargo ship. that was Captain Philips's ship.

Captain noticed that two skiffs carrying armed men and followed them and he tried to pull back them. captain made a virtual connect to American warship because he knew the rebels hear that voice.

One of the skiffs returned back. another one continued to follow and before entering the ship, Captain Philips started to react against them and ordered to hit the hoses.

But he couldn't pull back them and captain ordered to the crews to go to the engine room and lock the doors and stay at there and no one come out until you hear the nonduress password '' suppertime''.

Muse started to shout and he claimed that he is here to get some money but we wanted to know where are the other crews and he threatened to kill deck crews.

So captain was a smart man and with a smart trick with walky talky warned the crews in engine room that they are looking for you.

Captain tried to distraction Muse but he noticed somebody messing with the ship. so with looking the ship map, Muse decided to go to engine room, place where the crews were there.

Members in engine room knew that Muse is coming there so they were ready to hostage him.
