Last week I have gone to mafate, one of the three mountain areas inside Reunion island.
In mafate there are many ilets called "La nouvelle", "Marla"...
To go to mafate you don't need a cumbersome bag, just good shoes.
You have to hike six hours through the forest in the fog if the weather is cloudy.
There is any road there, just the rides in the mountain that you must climb down to reach the ilet.
The citizens pay for use the helicopter to carry back their purchases at home because all the shops are outside mafate.
Along time you can make an amble or a fast hike if the weather becomes blurred.
There are beautiful landscapes along the ride.
You meet a racial melting-pot people because a lot of tourists go there.
When you arrive at the ilet you eat in one of the many little restaurants there or your sandwich you have bring.
You can appreciate together the quiete and noiseless place without the congestion of the urban life.
Here you really come closer with the nature.
But one the other hand there is now overmuch tourists witch cause environmental problems.
For return, the climb up of the mountain is hard but you keep cool, you smile and it's increasingly difficult. Dime a dozen.
You look forward to arrive to your car.
And when you reach your object you say yourself : I did it.
